Sun’s earlier attempts to avoid being part of Dae Mok’s Pyunsoohwe group will be in vain in the upcoming “Ruler: Master of the Mask” episodes 29 and 30. The crown prince will be forced to partake in the said group’s deadly initiation rites to save the young woman he loves, Ga Eun.
The teaser clip for the upcoming two 30-minute episodes showed several tense scenes between Sun and Dae Mok with the former forced to join the latter’s group. With Dae Mok using Ga Eun as leverage to control the crown prince’s actions, it appears that Sun will have no choice but to follow the path that his deceased father wanted him to avoid.
However, it is unclear if Sun’s earlier immunity to poison will serve as his hidden card to break free from Dae Mok’s control. The crown prince previously survived a poisoning attempt, as featured in an earlier episode of “Ruler: Master of the Mask,” when the ink used to write his name on his back was laced with poison. Despite suffering from the said deadly brew, the then baby Sun recovered from the attack and grew up healthy.
Meanwhile, Ga Eun will find herself facing an angry Hwa Gun. A scene in the said “Ruler: Master of the Mask” teaser clip featured a confrontation between the two ladies with Hwa Gun slapping Ga Eun for being the reason why Sun has to suffer.
“Ruler: Master of the Mask” episodes 29 and 30 will air back-to-back on June 28, Monday, on MBC.
